The guys in the band have been discussing this topic quite a lot. One side of the argument (probably the majority) has been that it was crazy to allow full preview of the track. Also supporting this thought are the statistics which show a "poor" ratio between number of plays versus number of sales of our tracks (although maybe nobody liked the tracks enough to buy them!!). The other side of the argument says that while it's not ideal that it's not such a big deal. Main thought behind this is MySpace, YouTube etc i.e. if you also have a site on these kind of networks then anyone can listen to the full tracks without buying them. However on balance we support and welcome the change to 60 second preview. One suggestion though for your development team - if it's something that all bands do not seem to agree on then why not make it a choice for the artist rather than one size fits all. User configuration - as they say in software.

You are right in regards to artists being supportive of Myspace and Youtube allowing full streams. The difference is that those sites don't offer the music for sale - this is why we believe many artists have requested limited previews.

For artists to choose whether they want the preview or not, we will be adding that feature soon.
