Hello from indiestore insider,
We hope our regular newsletter is a welcome addition
to your inbox, please let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see more
of/less of in it. Your ideas about all things indiestore are also very welcome.
It’s your music after all, so if there’s something you’d like to see indiestore
doing, please let us know on the forums. We are here to help. No, really we
are.
Anyway, we won’t keep you long this week, there’s
football to be watched is there not?
indiestore recommends… world cup
songs!
Following
last week’s recommendation (indiestore.com/luckytobealive) we’ve been trawling
the site for signs of World Cup songs. Ant more? Are there heck, there’s loads
of the things! Here’s three that we’re liking…
www.indiestore.com/goal
Rapidly
becoming indiestore’s World Cup song of choice, George Cross And The England
Allstars serve up ‘Goal’. It’s this sort of innovation that makes England
proud. Hallam FM’s Daryl Denham is behind this peach of a cover version. Listen
and weep Chris Moyles!

Claiming
to have a Top 40 hit under their belts already, Trophy Boyz offer up ‘Name On
The Cup’, a not half bad semi-Lightning Seeds sing-along destined to stick in
your head after one listen. Handle with care.

You
have to hand it to people like this. Some would no doubt say they should be
handed a P45. ‘The Robocrouch’ is in no way destined to become a classic, but
it should at least raise a chuckle.
If
we’ve not mentioned your World Cup song, tell us all about it. We’ve also put
together a selection of classic and not so classic World Cup songs from years
gone by which you can marvel at here www.7digital.com/worldcup
forums
The more people we can get on our forums, the better
indiestore will be. You will have noticed that the forums are fast becoming an online resource for all things
indiestore. You’ll find boards for general comments, FAQs and bugs, as well as
a wishlist. Wishes along the lines of ‘please let England win the World Cup
this time’ most probably cannot be granted, everything else we’ll have a good
go at.
So, if you’ve got a question, it’d be a help to us and
other indiestore keepers if you could use
the forums rather than the online help. The indiestore team keep a close
eye on the forums and we will respond to any questions you might have.
You’ll find the forums and a wealth of knowledge and
some odd opinions along the way at indiestore.com/forum
indiestore FAQ
This
is the bit where we’ll be answering
the most frequent frequently asked question, if you know what we mean…
1)
Why can’t I log on to the forums or into my Manager?
There
is some confusion as to the logins for indiestore. We’re working on a fix to
make things a lot easier in future. There’s two login that you need to be aware
of for indiestore – one will get you into your Manager from which you can run
your store, the other allows you to post on the forums.
Your
username for the Manager is the email address you used when registering. This
is the address you received the welcome email at.
To
sign in to the forums, you need to use your ‘indiestore name’, which is the bit
at the end of your store’s URL. So, if your store is indiestore.com/7digital,
your indiestore name is… wait for it… 7digital.
The
password is the one you chose when signing up for indiestore and is the same
for both the Manager and the Forums. So there you go.
A nice link for
your indiestore pleasure
Don’t forget that once you’ve got some music on your
indiestore that you need to tell people
where they can find you. Here’s a handy little thing that you can add to
your website, MySpace page or any other sites you might use to help get people
into you indiestore and buying you music.
<a href="http://www.indiestore.com/yourstorename"
target="_blank"> <img
src="http://www.indiestore.com/graphics/indiestore_link.gif"
border="0"> </a>
Just
add your unique indiestore URL to bit that says /yourstorename in the above code and paste the entire link into
your site. The clever people among you are very welcome to add your own graphic
– in a caring sharing kind of way, it’d be great to see some different buttons
appearing on the forums.
